UAH’s freshman Lindsey Schlosser (30) attempts a three-pointer over the outstretched hands of West Alabama’s Becky Stone (42) at Spragins Hall. UAH won the contest 76-72 after being down by as many as 18 points in the first half.

After losing two tough contests on the road, UAH returned home to face off with conference rival West Alabama at Spragins Hall on a crisp, clear January evening.

The Lady Chargers, down by as many 18 points in the first 10 minutes of the contest, came-from-behind to stun the West Alabama Jaguars 76-72 and up their overall record to 9-5, and their Gulf South Conference record to 4-1.

"The play of our team in the first ten minutes was really disappointing," said UAH women's head coach Andy Blackston. "I had to really get at them for their play, but we regrouped and found a way to win the contest."

The 2-3 zone implemented by West Alabama confused and befuddled the Lady Chargers in the first ten minutes of play.

"Our ball movement was not there for the first ten minutes," said Lady Charger assistant coach Jeff Keller. "In the second half, we worked the ball around the perimeter and had a player flash to the middle of the lane and that helped us get a lot of open looks at the goal."

The open looks that coach Keller referred to was the big shots made by freshman Lindsey Schlosser and Chrystalle Duncan.

Schlosser converted on 3-out-of-4 from three-point land and Duncan made a team high 5 three pointers. Duncan finished the game with a team leading 19 points.

"Lindsey (Schlosser) and Chrystalle (Duncan) provided a lift in the second half," said Blackston. "LaKendra (Hogg) and Jesse (Inman) penetrated and kicked the ball out to the open shooters, and that resulted in our tremendous three-point field goal percentage."

For the game, UAH shot a remarkable 12-out of- 22 from three-point land.

Other sharpshooters' for the Lady Chargers on this night were Katie Caldwell, who nailed down 2 three-pointers and Hogg, who also nailed down two three-point makes.
